Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager with over 14 years of proven success in managing complex projects to join our team in Chicago, IL. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of various projects while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing multiple projects from initiation through closure, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and schedule constraints.
- Developing and maintaining detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Identifying project goals, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Allocating resources, assigning tasks, and monitoring project progress to achieve successful outcomes.
- Managing project risks and issues, and implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Tracking project performance using appropriate metrics and reporting tools.
- Conducting regular project status meetings and communicating updates to stakeholders and senior management.
- Ensuring adherence to project management best practices, methodologies, and governance standards.
- Providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to project team members.
- Conducting post-project reviews and creating lessons learned reports to improve future project execution.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 14 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive collaboration.
- Experience in managing cross-functional project teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in industries such as IT, finance, healthcare, or construction.
- Experience with change management processes and techniques.
- Knowledge of financial management and budgeting principles.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
- Master’s degree in Project Management or related field.
