Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer with over 12 years of experience to join our team in Ohio. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data availability, integrity, and reliability for analytics and business intelligence purposes.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Building and optimizing data integration workflows between various source systems and data repositories.
- Implementing data models and data structures to support business requirements and analytical needs.
- Collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Developing and maintaining data warehouse solutions and data lakes.
- Implementing best practices for data management, data quality, and data governance.
- Monitoring and optimizing performance of data systems and pipelines.
- Ensuring compliance with data security and privacy standards.
- Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering and analytics.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in data modeling, ETL development, and data integration techniques.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala for data processing and scripting.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Familiarity with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in industries such as healthcare, finance, e-commerce, or telecommunications.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
- Certification in relevant technologies (AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty, etc.).
- Ability to lead and drive complex data projects from inception to completion.
