Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled SAP BODS Developer with over 14 years of experience to join our team in Chicago, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data integration and ETL solutions using SAP BODS. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure the delivery of high-quality data management solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing, testing, and deploying SAP BODS solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Implementing data extraction, transformation, and loading processes (ETL) from various source systems into SAP and non-SAP targets.
  • Collaborating with business analysts, data architects, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Optimizing and tuning ETL processes for performance and scalability.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation related to ETL processes, data mappings, and data dictionaries.
  • Participating in data modeling and design sessions to ensure integration and compatibility with existing data systems.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to data integrity, data quality, and ETL processes.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring junior team members.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 14 years of experience in SAP BODS development or a similar ETL toolset.
  • Strong proficiency in SAP BODS (Business Objects Data Services) including data integration, data quality, and metadata management.
  • Experience with SAP HANA, SAP BW, and other SAP data warehousing technologies.
  • Proficiency in SQL programming and scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of data modeling principles and techniques.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP certifications related to BODS or data integration.
  • Experience with other ETL tools such as Informatica, DataStage, or Talend.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Big Data technologies.
  • Understanding of data governance and compliance requirements.
